EPT Land Communities is a developer of blended commercial and residential real estate. We specialize in the acquisition, planning, design and construction management of communities as well as multi-family investment and property management services.

We offer a diverse range of purchase options to the commercial developer as well as to the home builder. We take pride in cultivating and sustaining solid working relationships with all real estate, lending and engineering professionals.

Richard Aguilar
Mr. Aguilar, an El Paso native, began his real estate career in 1978 after serving this country as a Military Policeman in the United States Army. Since then he has founded many successful real estate enterprises including Cash Investments, Majestic Realtors, EPT Land Assets and Bella Homes along with founding other successful businesses like Capital Bank and many apartment communities in El Paso, Dallas/Fort Worth, San Antonio and Austin.

He currently owns and manages approximately 8,000 apartments, 200 rental houses, and hundreds of acres of land under development by EPT Land Assets and other entities while maintaining his ownership of and involvement with Cash Investments, Majestic Realtors and Bella Homes.

Mr. Aguilar’s experience in real estate spans nearly all aspects of the industry including site selection, land development, home building, commercial construction and management, office building investments, multi-family construction and investments, brokerage, and construction and leasing for governmental entities.

David L. Masel, M.D.
Dr. Masel earned a Bachelors of Science from Emory University in 1981 and completed medical school in 1985 at Emory University School of Medicine. After going on to complete a residency of Neurosurgery in 1991 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, he served in the United States Air Force as a Major at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.

He has been in private practice in El Paso, Texas, as a neurosurgeon since 1996 and co-founded the Progressive Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, L.P., that holds numerous patents for spinal surgery. He has been a visionary and a pioneer in biomedical research. He has contributed to three FDA clinical trials in developing and emerging technologies in medicine including the Maverick artificial lumbar disc. Dr. Masel is also a founding partner of the El Paso Specialty Hospital which was ranked in the top 5% in the nation for spine surgery in 2005. He has been recognized by Texas Monthly in 2008 as one of Texas’ top neurosurgeons.

David Masel is no stranger to business and hard work. He began his involvement in business during college, building a company that provided domestic steel to major construction projects in the Southeast United States. His business interests also include holdings in the multi-family housing industry. He has also developed interests in mortgage financing and founded a lending business in Texas. He is a principal and co-founder of EPT Land Communities which is an integrated and diversified land development company.

He resides in El Paso, Texas with his wife and children. Other interests include international travel, reading, music and wine collecting.

Willliam Ehrlich
William Ehrlich was born and raised in in El Paso, Texas. He is a 1986 graduate of Coronado High School. He attended The University of Texas at El Paso (B.A. 1991) and obtained his law degree from Wesleyan University School of Law (J.D. 1994). William is a Member State Bar of Texas, American Bar Association, El Paso Bar Association and Texas Association of Bank Counsel. William’s areas of practice include Commercial and Residential Real Estate, Residential, Commercial and Bank Lending, Mezzanine Finance, Construction Law, Business Corporations and Partnerships, Asset Protection and Foreclosures.

William has been recognized by Texas Monthly as a rising star super lawyer in Texas. He represents several of the largest commercial and residential real estate developers and owners in El Paso along with banks, mortgage and real estate companies, brokers and individual investors. William is also active in the management and day to day activities of EPT Land Assets and other related businesses.
